Our Location

We are located at Memorial University of Newfoundland in beautiful St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. St. John’s is one of the oldest cities in North America and is full of history, culture, and charm.

In the heart of the city, we are just minutes away from spectacular unspoiled wilderness and an international airport, from which you can fly direct to cities in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Europe.

Our location provides a beautiful backdrop for the study of environmental chemistry!

Here are some fascinating facts about Newfoundland, courtesy of visitnewfoundland.ca:

  • St. John’s is at the same latitude as Seattle, Washington. St. Anthony, on the northern tip of Newfoundland, is at the same latitude as London, England.
  • The ocean around Newfoundland is home to more than 20 species of whales at one time of the year or another, making Newfoundland one of the best whale viewing locations in the world.
  • Newfoundland routinely has one of the lowest crime rates in Canada.
